Who Told You "You Can't?"
Often times, we reminisce on why we never achieved that thing or why we were so afraid of pursuing the amazing idea. And when we get down to the nitty gritty of it all, it’s because someone in our past possibly told us, “You can’t do that.”
Thank about it? No one may have explicitly said you can’t achieve your goals or dreams, but it may have come in the form of your parent saying, “Stop flipping off the bed before you get hurt.” Or maybe it was your teacher who told you, “ Stop drawing in class.” Or maybe your friends snickered when you shared your secret desire to travel to the moon.
All of these responses to the things that make our hearts smile can dampen our spirit and zeal for even attempting to pursue the goals and dreams we have for ourselves. But know this: No one has the authority to tell you that you can’t achieve your dreams. While it may be unsafe to jump on the bed, your jumping could turn into a pursuit of success in track and field or gymnastics. That drawing you may not be able to work on in class is the start of a coloring book for kids or your journey to being a graphic designer.
Don’t let someone’s reaction to what you are doing right now deter you in your future endeavors. Keep the trill and the zeal in your heart for what you love.
